‘Funded by Merton Libraries, The Manifesto Project is a performance text created by library users and staff in performance and written interventions at Morden Library between May and July 2024. How can we create space together? And in a horizontal way, with each person being able to bring their whole self to the space? What could a manifesto be for this collective space? These are some of the questions posed by performance artist and writer Katherine Smith. Through a series of tasks using everyday library materials in an exploratory, creative way, focused on imagining, dreaming, connecting, participants took part in publishing a collective manifesto which has been added to the library catalogue.’
